I started volunteering with INeedALibraryJob.com, a website devoted for and run by (mostly) library and information science professionals, about a year ago as an assistant to the Greater New York City page editors.
My volunteer responsibility were checking a number of NYC-oriented job websites for new postings every week. As I was amidst my own job search, I wanted to help others. Story behind my staff picture: when the head editor asked for a “landscape-oriented picture” with my head in the upper portion, all I had is a picture from NYC Comic Con with some Power Rangers. Hardly a professional portrait, but it works.
